is one of our favourite treatments! It is an extremely versatile innovative laser technology used to promote a vibrant healthy looking complexion in men and women. It safely restores damaged skin, smoothing skin texture, tightening pores and reducing redness.
It works by gently heating the dermis to stimulate collagen re-growth and shrink red veins. Treatment is comfortable, without unwanted side effects and you can immediately return to normal activities.
Results build up subtly, requiring on average 4 to 6 treatments to give optimal results.
Frequently treated areas include face, neck and décolletage but other parts of the body can benefit. Laser genesis effectively treats fine lines, wrinkles, large pores, uneven skin texture, scars, diffuse redness, tiny thread veins and rosacea. It also improves infections such as acne and fungal nail infections.
Limelight IPL™ is a high-tech non-invasive light-based treatment for skin rejuvenation, designed to reverse the signs of sun-damage and ageing which give rise to an uneven dull complexion. It improves skin tone, reducing generalised redness, small veins, brown spots and pigmentation. In addition to the face, neck and décolleté, Limelight can be used on hands, arms and legs.
During treatment, LimeLight is customized to your skin type and problem area, gel applied and pulses of light delivered which cause a gentle pinching sensation due to the heat they produce. It is the selective heating of the brown and/or red pigmented areas of the skin that produces the therapeutic effect. Limelight is safer and more comfortable than many pulsed light devices because the tip that produces the light is cooled for comfort.
Following treatment, the skin may temporarily appear slightly red and brown spots will start to darken, but there is no 'downtime' because make-up can be used.
It takes between one and three weeks for the complexion to improve and the brown spots to flake and fade. Between one and three treatments usually produces the desired result, but in excessively sundamaged skin extra treatments may be necessary.
Maintainance is not generally required, although Rosacea may need ongoing treatment. Successfully treated brown spots, veins and redness will not return, but new ones can develop with new sundamage, so always apply broad-spectrum sunscreen.
