Laser Vein Treatment

Laser Vein Treatment

Laser vein therapy is an advanced technology designed to safely remove unsightly veins in men and women of all skin tones. There are several options which may be used alone or in combination.

Facial Veins

CoolGlide Vein Laser

Using the Cutera Cool Glide system we can quickly and effectively treat a broad range of blood vessels from tiny superficial facial veins to deeper blue leg veins. Treatment involves the delivery of pulses of light energy over the skin causing the blood in the treated vein to coagulate, closing the vessel. It is subsequently re-absorbed by the body and blood redirected to the deeper circulation where it belongs.

Leg Veins

On the face, treatment feels like tiny pin-pricks which are quite tolerable due to the way we cool and protect the skin. Depending on the severity, tiny vessels and spider veins can frequently be treated in one session without any bruising.

On the legs, treatment can cause a brief stinging sensation with each pulse which is quickly settled with ice. Local anaesthetic cream can be applied to lessen any discomfort. After treatment the skin can be a little red for 24hrs and some bruising is usual when treating larger veins, making Autumn/Winter the best time for treatment. The number of treatments required depends on the number, size and depth of vessels, but on average 2 treatments over 4 months generally gives a good result.

Laser Genesis

LaserGenesis is one of our favourite treatments! It is an extremely versatile innovative laser technology used to promote a vibrant healthy looking complexion in men and women. It safely reduces redness and fine red veins, restoring damaged skin, smoothing skin texture and tightening pores.

It works by gently heating the dermis to stimulate collagen re-growth and shrink red veins. Treatment is comfortable, without unwanted side effects and you can immediately return to normal activities.

Results build up subtly, requiring on average 4 to 6 treatments to give optimal results.

Frequently treated areas include face, neck and décolletage, but other parts of the body can also benefit. Laser genesis Genesis effectively treats diffuse redness, tiny thread veins and rosacea. It also improves fine lines, wrinkles, large pores, uneven skin texture, scars, acne and fungal nail infections.

Limelight IPL™

Limelight IPL™ is a high-tech non-invasive light-based treatment for skin rejuvenation, designed to reverse the signs of sun-damage and ageing which give rise to an uneven dull complexion. It reduces generalised redness and small veins improves skin tone, brown spots and pigmentation. In addition to the face, neck and décolleté, Limelight can be used on hands, arms and legs.

During treatment, LimeLight is customized to your skin type and problem area. A topical gel applied and pulses of light delivered which cause a gentle pinching sensation due to the heat they produce. It is the selective heating of the brown and/or red pigmented areas of the skin that produces the therapeutic effect. Limelight is safer and more comfortable than many pulsed light devices because the tip that produces the light is cooled for comfort.

Following treatment, the skin may temporarily appear slightly red and brown spots will start to darken, but there is no 'downtime' because make-up can be used immediately.

It takes between 1 and 3 weeks for the complexion to improve. Between 1 and 3 treatments usually produces the desired result, but in excessively sun damaged skin or for Rosacea, extra treatments may be necessary.

Maintenance is not generally required, although Rosacea may need ongoing treatment. Successfully treated brown spots, veins and redness will not return, however new ones can develop with new sun damage, so application of a broad spectrum sunscreen is recommended.
