A migraine is a severe, recurring headache, which is often suffered in the form of a throbbing pain that may be accompanied by nausea, vomiting and a sensitivity to light. Migraines can be set off by hormonal changes, as the fluctuations of estrogen levels are known to trigger headaches in women. This may also be caused by medications, such as birth control. Other triggers include: stress, environmental changes such as pressure or weather changes, alcohol, or sensory stimuli such as bright lights. In between migraine attacks, the symptoms tend to disappear completely.
Those who are more at risk of suffering with migraines may have a family history of the condition. Women are also more likely to suffer from migraines, particularly around the time of menstruation.
At Aesthetic Health, we use Muscle Relaxing Injections to ease the symptoms of migraines.
