Teenage Skin

As we enter the teenage years, our skin undergoes vast changes due to a fluctuation in hormone levels in both males and females. The change in these hormones, especially as levels of testosterone in the system increases, may result in the sebaceous oil glands producing increased sebum, which plugs hair follicles and promotes oily skin – as well as acne and other blemishes. Breakouts are most common in the “T-Zone” of the face, due to the large quantity of oil glands we have in these areas, including the forehead, nose, around the mouth and the chin.

Problematic teenage skin is a common worry for many teens, who may be insecure and less confident as a result. Breakouts, which may also result in scarring, can then go on to affect a patient for the rest of their life if the condition is left untreated. For this reason, many people wish to target their teen acne with various forms of treatment.
At Aesthetic Health in Leeds, we offer a number of treatments that are suitable for the treatment of teenage, acne prone skin. These treatments are only available for clients aged 16 and older.
