Created for those looking to permanently reduce unwanted body hair, laser hair removal uses the light energy from a laser to treat from top to toe. It destroys the hair follicle and can be used to specifically target problem areas.
Dependant on area. From 30 mins.
After a course of at least 6 treatments hair growth would have significantly reduced. In most cases, any regrowth will be finer and lighter in colour.
All skin types. Anyone concerned with excess or more hair growth than desired.
Put down the razor, throw out the hot wax, and let the desperate tweezers rest – you won’t have to endure them again! Aesthetic Health can permanently and painlessly reduce unwanted body hair, and prevent it growing back. To avoid knicked ankles, raw chests and damaged skin, consider Aesthetic Health’s laser hair removal treatment.
Laser hair removal is suitable for reducing unwanted hair anywhere on the body. Pulsating beams of light heat up the melanin pigment in the hair and destroy it at its follicle, preventing it from ever growing back. On average, 6 treatments tends to achieve optimum hair removal results, but our specialist practitioners will discuss your treatment options with you at your initial consultation.
Here at Aesthetic Health, we offer two different kinds of laser technology systems, to choose the one that best suits your needs. The Cutera ProWave is great for targeting larger areas, such as the back, legs and arms, while our more gentle option is perfect for the sensitivity of the underarms, nipples, face and bikini line. The Cutera CoolGlide System means our laser hair removal is suitable for any skin tone, and will be completely pain-free.
Please note: due to laser hair removal relying on the presence of melanin pigment to heat and destroy hair follicles, some grey or blonde hair may be more tricky to treat. Dr Sevi’s highly experienced team will be able to assess your specific case effectively at your initial consultation, and use their expert judgement to choose an option to best suit you.
Laser hair removal can be used effectively on the legs, arms, underarms and back. We also treat more sensitive areas, including the chest, nipple area and bikini line.
The melanin in the hair absorbs the laser energy while at the same time the skin is cooled to protect and reduce discomfort. Only hairs in the growing phase can be treated, giving up to 50% reduction in growth with each session.
Immediately afterwards, the treated area may appear slightly red and swollen. Within three-seven days the hair may appear to be ‘re-growing’. In fact, this is the hair shedding as a result of the treatment. It is not advisable to wax or pluck these.
Most areas require an average of six treatments to achieve good hair removal and the majority of this loss is permanent. A few new hairs can grow over time and some people may require top-up appointments every few years. Darker hair gives the best results and is generally easier to treat. Please note, grey and very blonde hair does not respond to the laser.
A full consultation and test patch is carried out by one of our Senior Practitioners to establish the best course of therapy for the area and results required. It may be necessary to trim or shave the hair requiring treatment before we start the process.
