Laser vein treatment is an advanced technology used to safely remove varicose veins & other unsightly veins. Laser vein therapy is suitable for all skin types and we offer several different treatments that can be used alone or as a powerful combination.
As we age, our bodies respond in different ways. For many, the appearance of thread-like veins across our arms can be a main contributor to lowered self-esteem. Thankfully, Aesthetic Health can offer a non-invasive corrective treatment to reduce the appearance of unsightly veins anywhere on the body.
Using advanced Cutera CoolGlide laser technology, Aesthetic Health can safely reduce the appearance of veins across the whole body. From smaller areas of broken capillaries to deeper blue veins, our laser system emits pulses of light energy over the offending vein, which causes the blood vessels to coagulate and close. The light energy causes selective damage to the lining of the targeted vein, without causing harm to the skin’s surface. The vessels are then naturally reabsorbed into the bloodstream, aiding the circulation to the rest of your body where blood-flow is actually improved.
Each laser vein treatment is different, and our specialist practitioners will assess the degree of treatment you will need at your initial consultation. Although varicose veins cannot be treated in this way, Dr Julia Sevi and her team are highly experienced, and will be able to advise you of the best course of action for your particular concern. For most laser vein treatments, we find that two treatments over four months usually gives the best outcome, with the results being noticeable at around two months post-treatment. Larger problem areas might need some time to recover from slight bruising. Although we make every effort to reduce the immediate effects of the treatment by cooling and protecting the skin with ice and topical numbing agents, some patients find that their skin may be a little red for up to 24 hours after the treatment. For this reason, we recommend Autumn and Winter treatments, so you can cover up appropriately if you wish.
Using the Cutera Cool Glide system, we can quickly and effectively treat a broad range of issues, from tiny superficial veins to deeper blue veins.
Pulses of light energy are delivered over the skin causing the blood in the treated vein to coagulate and the vessel to close. It is subsequently re-absorbed by the body and blood is then redirected to the deeper circulation area where it belongs.
Treatment feels like tiny pin-pricks which are quite tolerable due to the way we cool and protect the skin. When having the procedure you may experience a brief stinging sensation, however each pulse is quickly settled with ice to minimise any discomfort. A local anaesthetic cream can also be applied if required.
Once the procedure is finished you may notice your skin is a little red for up to a day. When treating larger veins some bruising is usual, so we suggest having the process done during the autumn and winter so you can cover up as necessary.
The number of treatments a patient requires very much depends on the number, size and depth of veins. However, we find that on average two treatments over four months generally gives a good result.
