Laser vein treatment is an advanced technology used to safely remove unsightly veins. Laser vein therapy is suitable for all skin types and we offer several different treatments that can be used alone or as a powerful combination.
Duration 30-60 mins
None required, ice is used to cool the treatment area
None for face, legs can be bruised for 4-8 weeks
Face within 1 week, legs 3 months
Suitable for all face veins respond including those in rosacea. Leg veins can be treated except in the case of varicose veins
At Aesthetic Health we use the Cutera CoolGlide, a non-invasive laser vein treatment device that is specifically designed to eliminate blood vessels from all parts of the body. It generates a pulse of intense, concentrated light which is directed through a small, cooled hand piece gently applied to the treatment area.
This laser energy passes through the skin to the blood vessels causing selective damage to the lining of the target vessel without damaging the surrounding tissues and skin.
Our innovative laser vein treatment can be used effectively and efficiently just about anywhere on the body.
Using the Cutera Cool Glide system, we can quickly and effectively treat a broad range of issues, from tiny superficial veins to deeper blue veins on your legs.
Pulses of light energy are delivered over the skin causing the blood in the treated vein to coagulate and the vessel to close. It is subsequently re-absorbed by the body and blood is then redirected to the deeper circulation area where it belongs.
Treatment feels like tiny pin-pricks which are quite tolerable due to the way we cool and protect the skin. When having the procedure on your legs, you may experience a brief stinging sensation, however each pulse is quickly settled with ice to minimise any discomfort. A local anaesthetic cream can also be applied if required.
Once the procedure is finished you may notice your skin is a little red for up to a day. When treating larger veins some bruising is usual, so we suggest having the process done during the autumn and winter so you can cover up as necessary.
The number of treatments a patient requires very much depends on the number, size and depth of veins. However, we find that on average two treatments over four months generally gives a good result.
